Jeff Rogers, Associate Pastor
Family: I married my wife Emily in June 2014. We were high school sweethearts. We went to the same church, the same school, and lived in the same neighborhood growing up! She teaches elementary school and loves making a difference in her student’s lives. We have the cutest cat in the world named Marshall. He is an orange tabby, and we might spoil him.
How you relax and have fun: I love trying new restaurants, coffeehouses, or places for ice cream. You can find me rooting for the Braves, the Bulldogs, or the Falcons. Of course, that is if I’m not binge watching something new on Netflix.
Favorite Music: I’m more of a podcast guy myself, but I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ll listen to Taylor Swift.
Favorite Food: All of it! If I had to pick just one it might be cheesecake.
Biblical Character you most identify with and why: Moses. I love that God used somebody who knew that they were not qualified for the task that God called him to. The story of Moses always reminds me of the incredible work that God can do through those who follow Him.
Ideal Vacation: I went to Venice on my Honeymoon! It doesn’t get much better than that. I would love to go to Israel one day, though.
What I like best about Chamblee: It feels like home.
The usual stuff (where you went to school, where you have worked, etc.): I went to the University of Georgia for my Bachelor’s Degree. Go Dawgs! After that I attended Emory University, Candler School of Theology for my Masters of Divinity. I have worked at Colbert UMC and Lawrenceville UMC primarily with the youth groups. I love the local church, and can’t imagine doing anything else!
