As announced yesterday in worship, Dr. Rev. Royeese Stowe will be moved to Lawrenceville First United Methodist Church in June. Chamblee First UMC will be transitioning Rev. Carol Cook into the Senior Pastor role around that time. Here is Rev. Carol Cook’s bio:
Rev. Carol Cook has served under appointment in the North Georgia Conference since 1989 as Associate Pastor at Newnan First and as Pastor of Hogansville First, Senoia, Rockmart First, and Clayton First. For the past seven years, she has served as the District Superintendent of the LaGrange District. Carol also has experience as a church music director, director of Christian education, youth minister, and program director in United Methodist Churches. Carol has a BA degree in music education from Tift College and a Master of Divinity degree from Emory University. She was ordained a Deacon in 1989 and Elder in 1991. Her interests include quilting and crocheting, reading, and enjoying being with family. She also enjoys musical theater and singing. Scott Cook is a retired, middle school science and Georgia history teacher. He has a BS degree in science education from Georgia State University and a Master of Science degree from Mississippi State University. His interests include jewelry making and rock collecting, reading, baseball, and anything having to do with science. Scott and Carol have one adopted son, Ryan Molock. Ryan is married to Katie and they have a one year old son, Jaxon. Being grandparents is the joy of their lives! Since 2013, Scott and Carol have been involved with the North Georgia Conference Bridge to El Salvador. They have traveled there three time with teams from the LaGrange District and are there this week. Scott and Carol are very excited about coming the Chamblee First UMC to share in ministry with you. They look forward to meeting all of you and being a part of the Chamblee community.
