Carol Cook was born in Atlanta and raised in a rural community near Monroe County, Georgia. She has been active in the church since her early childhood. Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, youth group, and choir have been an important part of her faith development.  For her, the church is all about building relationships – with God and each other. She answered her call to ministry at the age of 24 after beginning to work as a part-time Choir Director in a United Methodist Church.

Carol is a graduate of Tift College with a degree in music education. She taught music in schools for three years while serving as the Choir Director at Christ United Methodist Church in Forsyth. After her call to ministry, she returned to school to earn a Master of Divinity degree at Emory University. Since her ordination in 1989, she has served at six different churches as pastor and as a District Superintendent before coming to Chamblee First.

Carol is married to Scott Cook and has a son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Katie, and a grandson, Jaxon. Ryan and Katie are expecting another child in April, 2018. Scott and Carol have enjoyed sharing their lives with their churches and are excited about sharing in mission and ministry at Chamblee First.
