Allen Barbee has been our Minister of Music since 2012.  Along with music for worship and special services, Allen directs our Chancel Choir, handbells choir, children’s music programs, and special ensembles groups.  

Allen earned his Master of Music degree from DePaul University in Chicago. While there he founded and directed the Belden Consort and was Assistant Conductor of the Chicago Philharmonia. Allen earned his Bachelor of Music degree from Furman University in Greenville and Associate in Fine Arts degree from Brevard College in North Carolina. He is currently also Director of Bands and Instrumental Music Teacher at St. Martin’s Episcopal School in Atlanta. Other responsibilities include Music Director and Conductor of Peachtree Symphonic Winds and music production conductor at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A recipient of numerous awards and recognitions, he also has an honorary Ph.D in Education, performs on and teaches all woodwind and keyboard instruments, plus conducts and adjudicates throughout the southeast. Previous appointments include Faith United Methodist Church and Marietta First United Methodist Church. 

Allen has two sons and three dogs. Aside from playing/directing music, travel is a favorite pastime. You can usually find him attending events around the globe having to do with music or Disney!
