The Easter Season is the most joyous of the Christian year. We celebrate the good news that in Christ’s death and resurrection we are continually being made new by God’s love and saving grace. During the 40 days leading up to Easter, known as Lent, we take time to reflect and prepare. We remember who we are and embrace the hope of who we are meant to be. This season is a time of new life and new possibilities. Chamblee First welcomes you and invites you to discover the hope and love that surrounds us all!
Lenten Study Series
Sundays, Mar. 5 – Apr. 2, 11 am – 12 pm
Sunday, Apr. 9, 10 – 11 am
Each Sunday during Lent, Pastor Eric Lee will lead a small group session that correlates with his sermon series. Courage: Jesus and the Call to Brave Faith by pastor and author Tom Berlin will serve as our study guide. By examining the life of Christ, we will begin to understand what true courage is and how God works in the lives of Christ followers as they exhibit a brave faith.
weekdays & Saturdays, Feb 22 – Apr 8
A verse per day to support your personal practice of self-examination and reflection. Bookmark this link for quick reference to daily scripture.
Lenten & Local Missions
Throughout Lent, CFUMC will be supporting our neighbor, Huntley Hills Elementary School.
Now through Saturday Apr. 8, we are collecting new & gently used books for reading levels PreK-8th grade. In partnership with our local Girl Scout troops, a book will be presented to every student to inspire literacy. Book donations may be brought to the altar during worship services on Sun Apr. 2 or Thur. Apr. 6, or may be deposited in collection bins throughout Holy Week.
