The Missions Committee is collecting items for the Elizabeth Foundation to benefit the homeless as the weather gets colder. We’ve supported the Elizabeth Foundation for almost two years providing clothes, cold weather items, hygiene kits, and hot meals one Sunday each month.
The Elizabeth Foundation has urgently requested the following items (new or used): Blankets, Coats or Jackets, Hats, Gloves, Hand Warmers, Tents, Tarps, Sleeping Bags, Flashlights with Batteries, and Socks (new only.)
Please bring your items in bags and place them in the narthex or the breezeway between the sanctuary and the atrium. We will collect items beginning Nov 6 through Nov. 27, after which all donations will be delivered to the Elizabeth Foundation and distributed to the homeless during the first two weeks of December.
Additionally, during our Wednesday Night Supper on Nov. 16, Marie Hurt will join us from the Elizabeth Foundation to speak about the great work their organization does to assist the homeless in our area. On this date only, we will also be collecting items for the homeless in the Fellowship Hall up on the stage.
If you have any questions about this collection drive benefitting the homeless, please contact Brad Van Duser at 404-502-3684 or via email at bradv2@me.com.
