Weather Alert & Campus Closure

In accordance with this weekend’s winter weather advisory, Chamblee First UMC will be closed on Sunday, January 25 and Monday, January 26. All activities — including in-person worship, recreational activities, youth group, preschool & kindergarten, and extracurriculars — have been canceled. Campus gates are also closed and, weather permitting, will reopen Tuesday morning.

For those in need of assistance, DeKalb County warming centers will be open January 24–26. Click here for details. Additionally, several members of Chamblee First UMC have received UMCOR Early Response Team training. While ERTs are not first responders, they fill a specific need in the early days after a disaster by removing debris and placing tarps on homes to prevent further damage. If you need help, call the church and leave a message.

We encourage all members and friends of Chamblee First UMC to follow the guidance of local emergency management and community officials. Please reach out to vulnerable church members and neighbors, and be in prayer for all who may be affected by the winter storms.
