Mellie is the Kindergarten and Preschool Director for Chamblee First United Methodist Church. She is in charge of over 150 children who attend preschool at CFUMC each day. Mellie’s main responsibilities are to maintain the Christ-centered play based philosophy of our school as well as support the teachers and parents as we strive to help each child reach his/her God-given potential through learning about our world and the many blessings that God has bestowed on each of us. Mellie has a strong background in Early Childhood education with a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration. Before joining us at CFUMC she taught elementary school and was an assistant principal. Mellie and her husband Dan have 4 children who all attended CMK and often reminisce about the fun memories made while at CMK. When not working with children Mellie enjoys watching sports events with her family, playing tennis, and reading. We are so thankful to have Mellie on our staff!
