United Methodist Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Circles

Circles are the heart of UMW, providing women the opportunity to meet in small groups to gather for fellowship, service, study and spiritual growth. Each Circle has its own purpose and style, but all are focused on connecting Chamblee First United Methodist women in a more intimate setting. Circles always seek new members and welcome visitors.

Alma North | First Monday of the month | 6:30 p.m.
Contact: Becky Craven

Our ladies grow in Christian fellowship each month by participating in service projects that benefit the church and other ministries. Some of our projects include donating items to kids in need at local schools and other mission projects. We meet at the church each month.

Fannie Tapp | Second Tuesday of the month | 10:00 a.m.
Contact: Ann Hammond

For women who prefer a daytime Circle, Fannie Tapp strives to form close bonds of friendship that enable us to care for and support one another through life’s ups and downs. We meet in a member’s home at 10:00 a.m. for fellowship and food, sharing of praises and prayer concerns, UMW business, and a program, ending by noon. We support UMW and church mission projects throughout the year.

Circle of Friendship | 2nd Tuesday of the month | 6:30 p.m.
Contact: Jennifer Teahan

We focus on strengthening our faith through missions, Christ‑centered programs, fellowship, and devotions. We focus on strengthening our faith through mission activities, Christ-centered programs, fellowship, and devotions. We are a diverse group of women in different stages of life, and we meet in a member’s home or at the church.

Jessie Wallace | 2nd Tuesday of the month | 2:00 p.m.
Contact: Mary Lou Dennisson

The Jessie Wallace Circle has a long history at Chamblee First United Methodist. Our members, who meet monthly in a member’s home, are primarily working women and retirees. Malachi’s Storehouse is our primary mission project—donating diapers throughout the year and contributing to their Christmas shop. Our Circle is also very active in all church and UMW sponsored activities.
