Encounter Winter Retreat | Jan 16-19, 2026

Encounter is a four-day weekend retreat hosted at the beautiful Lake Junaluska Conference and Retreat Center in Lake Junaluska, NC. This retreat for Middle and High School students is specifically designed to inspire growth and provide an Unshakable Faith foundation through powerful worship, impactful messages, and small group time. Like our retreats at Glisson, we’ll also get to share the weekend with youth from United Methodist Churches across the region. Cost is $330 per person and includes accommodation, all meals, expenses and snowtubing! Registration deadline is January 9, 2026.

2025-2026 CONFIRMATION

Confirmation is a faith milestone in which young people publicly affirm their faith, receive the strengthening of the Holy Spirit, and commit to full participation in the life and ministry of the Church. For those who have been baptized, this is the fulfillment of the promise the adults in their life made that day, to raise them in the Christian faith until they were ready to accept it for themselves. For those who have not yet been baptized – teens and parents – this is also an opportunity to receive that sacrament as well. To prepare, students take classes in Old and New Testament, Church History, Methodist Theology and Doctrine, and what it means to practice their faith as a devoted member of a local congregation. Once confirmed, students are considered full members of the church.

  • Confirmation is included as a track in our Sunday AM Experience.
  • Confirmation Sunday is Sunday, April 19, 2026 during our 10:45am Service.

Each Summer, CMY offers students in 6th-12th grades a chance to engage in local mission and service. In partnership with other United Methodist Congregations, we join forces for a week-long trip to serve our neighbors. During the Summer of 2025, we took 11 students to Midway UMC to serve through the Alpharetta Mission Project. Check back here soon for more information about our plans for Summer 2026.
