Lent and Easter at Chamblee First United Methodist Church

Lent is a season of reflection and renewal. In our sermon seriesRooted: A Lenten Journey of Digging Deep and Letting Go, we will prepare our hearts for Easter by giving up what keeps us from God and taking on practices that draw us closer.

Throughout the season of Lent, we are invited to deepen our walk with God through intentional prayer, reflection, and spiritual disciplines. Over the next 6 weeks, the creation of prayer stations in our worship space will support you on your Lenten journey. Whether you come alone or with family and friends, these stations will provide a quiet space for you to connect with God and reflect on the significance of this holy season.

Elementary and Preschool families will complete a Lenten Service Project benefitting Chamblee Mission’s ministry partners and our local community. Lunch will be provided!

On Good Friday, we remember Jesus’ outpouring of love through his suffering and crucifixion. Join us Apr 18 at 7 pm in the Sanctuary for this multi-sensory Service of Tenebrae. Nursery is available for Infants – PreK.

Easter Cross of Flowers
Sunday, Apr 20 (prior to worship)

Help decorate our beautiful Easter Cross on the front lawn. Early Easter morning, bring flowers, flowering branches, or vines to create a stunning symbol of the resurrection. Or, as you arrive for worship, add your cuttings to the cross, located just outside the Narthex doors at the front of the church.

Easter is the most joyous and celebrative Sunday of the Christian year. We celebrate the good news that in Christ’s death and resurrection we, and all creation, are continually being made new by God’s love and saving grace. Worship with us Sunday, Apr 20 at 9 am or 11 am in the Sanctuary or via LiveStream.

Hosted by Children’s Ministries, join us between Easter Sunday Services for a complimentary breakfast in Fellowship Hall. Then, immediately following our 11 am service, stay for our Annual Egg Hunt on the Great Lawn.
