Keep up with all the devotions

Scripture: I Peter 1:3-4 “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade — kept in heaven for you.”

The lyrics of the song below hit me hard after going through a really painful divorce. All I could do was cling to my faith — living in uncertainty, being alone, lost and broken in so many ways. Our faith calls us to look to Christ, to live in hope, even in the most difficult times. It seems too hard and impossible at the time. WE are out of control!

Today we are ALL living with uncertainty, many of us or our loved ones are alone because of the pandemic, the fear of getting sick or dying. Many people have turned to blaming others — the government, healthcare officials, whomever. But bad things happen ALL the time. In the midst of any bad thing (and also the good things) we are called to remember our “NEW BIRTH” in Christ, to “LIVE in HOPE” because He has given us “an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade – kept in heaven for us.”

What a wonderful picture of that place I have and I am so grateful for Christ’s sacrifice to be able to claim that in the end.

If You Want Me To, by Ginny Owens
The pathway is broken
And the signs are unclear
And I don’t know the reason why you brought me here
But just because you love me, the way that you do
I’m gonna walk through the valley
If you want me to
