How long have you been a member/involved at CFUMC?
Since my Baptism by Reverend Bowen at the old church – Forever!
What is your most memorable event/activity that you have participated in at the church?
Restore. Dottie, Betty Robinson and I putting on the Western Theme BBQ on the front lawn in a tent. My daughter and I writing our names and Bible verse on the concrete in the new dedicated Youth Corner. Running VBS for 2 weeks straight to accommodate all the children. Finishing up the effort to update our hopelessly outdated mechanical room and individual HVAC for each room. Paying it all off! WOW
What is your favorite thing about this church?
My church is my home. I grew up with many of these people and I’m glad to welcome others into the fold. What about this church makes you want to be a part it? We continue to grow and still maintain worthwhile traditions.
What person at the church most influenced you coming to this church?
Ann Hammond; my Junior MYF leader, fellow bell ringer, VBS coordinator, Choir, dear friend to my folks and finally neighbor who helped us rebuild after a catastrophic fire, she’s never failed.
What is one thing about this church that you cherish the most?
Outdoor Live Nativity
If you had one dream for this church, what would it be?
For every person to receive some part of nourishing Word of God each time they attend. That new folks would continue to give us a try. That established members would continue to take over leadership roles.
What is/was your line of work/career? Construction Transmission Project Management at Georgia Power. Previously worked for the City of Atlanta assisting with the 5th runway, Scheduling a fast track Honda Odyssey car manufacturing facility, Senior Civil Engineer at Tritium Recycling, Savannah River Site. First of many women to graduate with a Construction Management degree from Southern Tech.
What is your greatest accomplishment outside the church? Raising my beautiful daughter, Savannah, who loves to read 😊and is currently a Senior at Georgia Southern.
Any other fun facts we should know about you?
I am really interested in Atlanta Braves, College Football (Go Clemson), and Classic Film Noir Movies. Dad and I are always out and about looking for new restaurants and revisiting favorites. We both like sports but he would prefer I did not watch with him because I make too much noise.
